Prior to the treatment, the area will be numbed and sedation will be provided to allow you to relax during your procedure. When you are ready, an incision will be made in your gums in order to reveal your bone and sinus cavity. Utilizing special instruments, the sinus floor will be carefully lifted and bone grafting tissue will be added below in order to maintain the new position of your sinus cavity, as well as increase the amount of bone available for the placement of a dental implant. After the procedure is complete, the gum tissue will be sutured closed and the treatment area will be thoroughly rinsed.
